FAQ

What is the My FOTP initiative?

It is an opportunity we have to grow in our faith by seeking God’s leading and provision for the present and future needs of our church and community.  The initiative will allow us to enhance our ministry and expand our facilities to address these needs.  Specifically, My FOTP is a 3-year initiative that will allow each of us to contribute toward our financial goal.

What is our financial goal for My FOTP?

Our goal for the My FOTP initiative is to raise $4 million above our regular tithes from the fall of 2015 through December 2018.

What will we do with $4 million?

Provide infrastructure to become a place of restorative hope for families and a refuge for orphans.  In addition, each campus will raise the necessary resources to expand:

Haslet:  Addition of 150 parking spaces, site development for new worship facility.

Grapevine:  Additional parking, auditorium expansion (stadium seating).

          Keller:  Children’s ministry nursery expansion.

Why are we launching the My FOTP initiative?

The initiative allows all of us to give funds sacrificially and generously over and above our operating budget to address our growing needs.  Although it is certainly about funding our construction projects, it is about much more than that.  We believe My FOTP will help us in reaching spiritually disconnected people with the gospel, equipping them to lead their family, and defending those in need.

Why do you need a 3-year pledge?

Not only can pledging be an act of spiritual discipline as it provides an opportunity to completely trust God with our finances, but it will also be a helpful tool for financial planning.  Your pledge enables us to secure financing through the bank.

Why are we taking on debt?

As a church, we handle finances like any healthy household.  We never want to accumulate consumer debt, we do have a reasonable mortgage.

Will I be pressured to give?

Absolutely not.  The decision on how much to give will be between you and God.  We are eager to see everyone engage with us in this journey of faith and seek God.

Is this gift/pledge in addition to my tithes and offerings?

Yes, this gift is an additional sacrificial gift that will be designated to the purpose and goals of this initiative.

What happens if I am unable to fulfill my pledge?

Pledging is an estimate of giving and sometimes situations may prevent one person from fulfilling their full pledge, while other events may allow others to increase their pledge.  Your commitment card is not a binding contract, but a willing commitment you make to God.

How do I participate?

First, prayerfully consider giving generously to My FOTP.  In order to reach our $4 million goal, we need every person in our church to be involved. On Commitment Weekend, November 14-15, bring a one-time gift and a pledge indicating what you will give to My FOTP over the next three years (through December 2018.)  This combined total will help us move forward with the bank so that our projects can be funded.  Commitment envelopes are available at the connection point.
